Breast enhancement pills have become big business lately, and their popularity can be attributed to slick marketing campaigns that offer guaranteed safety and low cost. Like most kinds of dietary supplements, breast enlargement products are not subject to scrutiny by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Every manufacturer will claim to have studies that demonstrate how effective their products are. However, a lot of the data that they depend on comes from either isolated, limited studies, or indirect evidence. There is no doubt that pills and topical ointments are the second most popular forms of breast enhancement today, just behind plastic surgery. A majority of the pills being sold contain the same basic ingredients: wild yam, fenugreek, black cohosh, and burdock root.
Unfortunately, most products contain too small an amount of the active ingredient to be effective, and produce almost no results. Even where large enough quantities are present, the delivery method of taking a pill can be spotty at best. Studies are still being done as to whether other methods of delivery might be more efficient.
Phytoestrogens are plant based compounds that mimic estrogen in the human body. It is thought that by introducing amounts of phytoestrogen into the body will kick start a woman's natural production, and thereby stimulate growth in the breast region. Breast enhancement supplements are starting to incorporate phytoestrogen ingredients in their recipes.
Other Methods
Other breast enlargement products available include suction and pump devices, as well as creams and topical ointments. Many women have found success by using some combination of enhancement products, such as a pill and rub in cream along with exercise that target the chest area (like pushups). While formal research is ongoing, more and more women are utilizing product combinations simply based on word of mouth.
